Rob Zombie’s “Great American Nightmare” which he recorded for the Howard Stern movie “Private Parts” and is used by Stern for his radio show as the official theme song, has been covered by Star Trek’s William Shatner.

Shatner was invited by Stern to record a spoken word-influenced version for his recent appearance on the show. Speaking on his show Stern said, “I am listening to his interpretation of this song and I like what he’s doing with it. He almost comes off like a scary monster.”

Zombie is thrilled to have Shatner cover the track and commented on his Instagram: “Having @williamshatner cover one of my songs is the highlight of my very bizarre career. Big thanks to Howard for making this happen!”
