It is with sadness we learn of the passing of actor Austin Stoker. The Trinidadian-American was best known for his role as police officer Lt. Ethan Bishop in John Carpenter’s Assault On Precinct 13. Stoker’s over four decade career began in 1973’s Battle for the Planet of the Apes, and included roles in Airport 1975, Machete Joe and the acclaimed tv-series Roots.
Stoker appeared in Rob Zombie’s 2019 movie 3 From Hell as tv news reporter Earl Gibson.
Writing following the news of the actor’s passing on October 7, 2022 (Stoker’s 92nd birthday), Zombie said:
Just heard of the passing of Austin Stoker. Was always a fan of his movies from Assault on Precinct 13 to Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Obviously I was thrilled to have him be part of 3 From Hell. His time on set was brief but fun.
