On August 28, 2009 Rob Zombie released a sequel to his reimagined Halloween. Following directly on from the end of Halloween (2007), it follows Michael Myers as he escapes from the back of a mortuary van to once again terrorize his baby sister Laurie Strode (played by Scout-Taylor Compton).

Remarking on the anniversary Rob writes:

Today marks 12 years since the release of Halloween 2 🎃 a crazy, violent, psycho film that split Halloween fans down the middle. 👍🏼 Some love it… some hate it. ☠️ I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🎃

Returning to the movie were Sheri Moon Zombie, Brad Dourif and Tyler Mane as Big Mike himself. But one notable appearance was from (now) Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer who in a dream sequence becomes the bloody victim of Michael Myers as he hunts down his sister Laurie Strode.

Spencer referenced the bloody kill in an SNL skit back in 2017. Watch it here: https://halloweendailynews.com/2017/03/snl-octavia-spencer-halloween-ii/
