Just before Rob Zombie rounded up his co-headlinging tour with Megadeth by performing at this years Rocklahoma, he spoke to Andrew W. Griffin of The Current to discuss his new movie, touring and more.
For musician and moviemaker Rob Zombie, balancing the two creative passions can be quite a balancing act, but somehow the horror fan and heavy rocker manages just fine.
Finishing up a film and starting a movie, all within months of one another – it’s a tall order. And then there’s his upcoming gig co-headlining Rocklahoma with Megadeth on Saturday, May 26th.
Zombie said that while some outdoor rock festivals can be a drag or simply not well organized, Rocklahoma proved to be a one of the country’s top hard rock and heavy metal festivals. (more…)

Coming soon, news from the studio and more….
From Marvin Simmons: Was a killer show at rocklahoma last night 5-26-12. Zombie had a awesome stage show and present. 4 th time seeing him and show gets better everytime.
From Kelly Martin: Best fucking show ever. Would have been worth the entire ticket price if it was just him. Guitarist John 5 is a motherfucking badass, keep rocking. Drummer is spot on as well. Rob even came out in the crowd and it was soo cool. I will definitely be going to more zombie shows as this was my first and I don’t think anything else will be able to compare until I see more zombie shows. Guitarist played the national anthem with his fucking teeth! Show was perfect. Will be waiting impatiently until the next.
From Barry: Took my daughter to her first real concert…we both had a BLAST!!! Hopefully we’ll get to see the show here again!!!
With Rob Zombie set to wrap up touring with Megadeth this weekend at Rocklahoma, before going into the studio with the band to make his next album, he just had time to catch up with Tulsa World where he explained the show he plans to put on for the fans.

Organizers expect attendance to top 20,000 a day, more than the 35,000 total attendance the 2011 show drew, according to Joe Litvag, AIG Live senior vice president of the Midwest Region.
“One of the things I really admire about Rocklahoma is that we here in America finally have a premiere rock festival again,” said David Ellefson, bassist, backing vocalist and co-founder of Los Angeles thrash-metal veterans Megadeth.
“When I was growing up in Minnesota in a rural area, and I remember there were all these festivals – Iowa Jam, Texxas Jam, California Jam. America had real rock ‘n’ roll festivals, you know, multiple days, big events, and all the biggest bands would go play ‘em. And then by the time we got into the ’80s, and certainly by the ’90s, those were gone.” (more…)
