Is everyone else too scared? Scared the boogeyman will get ya!
Another Labor Day Weekend has come and gone and again Michael Myers reigns supreme, as Rob Zombie’s Halloween is still the top grossing movie opening over the Labor weekend – since 2007!!
That’s eight years seeing off some great contenders such as Lawless, The Possession, Machete and some teeny bopper band put out a movie too…but we guess they got scared too.
Anyway thanks again to everyone who helped make Halloween a success.
Good luck to whoever wants to try next year………
Rob Zombie is currently working on the editing of his next movie 31, and has teased this behind the scenes image with Glenn Garland as they work on putting the finishing touches to the movie.
As you can see, mucho java is needed too!
RZ recently spoke to Bloody Disgusting and confirmed the film would be out in early 2016; “Right now, we’re almost done editing and then we gotta do some visual effects and some production and color timing. Really just working on the music. It’s really just the final stages. So we’ll probably be completely finished by November. And it’ll be out early next year.”
A small update from behind the scenes of the next Rob Zombie movie 31, with the good guys, in happier times.
From left to right are, Kevin Jackson, Sheri Moon Zombie, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Meg Foster and Jeff Daniel Phillips.
Rob Zombie’s solo debut album Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside the Spookshow International, came out 17 years ago (August 25, 1998). It debuted at number 5 in the Billboard charts, and reached Platinum status just three months later. It carried on the vein of sounds fans were familiar with from the White Zombie years, and its mix of metal and industrial sounds meant it garnered new fans as well as placated loyal fans.
Speaking to Loudwire, Zombie says; “I think people could tell I was having a good time making this music and playing around a little with this different technology and these different sounds,” he said. “As long as I’m having fun with what I’m doing then it will probably come through in the music.”
The album has sold over 3 million units and continues to be a fan favorite with tracks such as “Dragula“, “Living Dead Girl” and “Superbeast” still being played in Zombie’s live set. It also received a re-release in 2005 with new artwork, and was the basis for the successful remix album American Made Music to Strip By.
Coming on the back of their announcement last month, Rob Zombie and Godsmack are adding two more dates to their co-headliner.

On July 22, 2005, Rob Zombie unleashed the Firefly Family again on the cinema audience, with The Devils Rejects. The sequel to his debut movie House of 1000 Corpses saw Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), Otis (Bill Moseley) and Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), on the run from Sheriff Wydell (William Forsyth), a man obsessed with bringing the blood shedding family to justice (in one way or the other) for the death of his brother.
So today, July 22, 2015, is officially The Devils Rejects day, to mark the 10th anniversary of the release of the film (already??!!).

A great, and very detailed interview and feature article from Grantland.com, which focuses on director Rob Zombie, and beyond the horror that he is most known for. The article comes in light of the news that Zombie is to direct a movie about his comic idol Groucho Marx, based on the book by Steve Stoliar entitled “Raised Eyebrows”.
This is a really interesting and thoroughly in-depth look at Zombie’s career.
It is with sadness we hear of the passing of another friend – actor Irwin Keyes. Rob Zombie reflects on the news “I have just heard the terrible news that our friend Irwin Keyes has passed away. Irwin was a cool guy and a big part of the House of 1000 Corpses family. He will be missed by us all.”
Keyes made his screen debut in the 1979 cult classic “The Warriors” but also worked with Woody Allen, the Coen Brothers and of course with Rob Zombie as Ravelli in House of 1000 Corpses. Our thoughts are with his wife Tracey Fontaine and his family.
Steve Stoliar explains why he approves of Rob Zombie to direct his Groucho Marx story “Raised Eyebrows”
Steve Stoliar, friend, and former personal assistant to the legendary comic genius Groucho Marx, writes a guest column for the Hollywood Reporter in which he explains why there is “nothing scary” about the prospect of Rob Zombie directing the film adaptation of his book “Raised Eyebrows”.
“Nothing Rob has said or done since has given me second thoughts about having placed the care and feeding of my story in his hands. As we’ve gotten to know each other, I’ve come to realize what kindred spirits we are — despite outward appearances — not just in terms of this project, but in other areas, including a shared love for classic rock and lesser Bela Lugosi films.”
It’s a really interesting read. Read the column in full here: hollywoodreporter.com/news/how-horror-meister-rob-zombie
