I’d like to know about your artwork/graphic design and your thought process in creating/producing it. You have a distinct visual style with your films and music and I feel everything you put out is wrapped up with your seal of approval called artwork. I read in some interviews that you may or may not release an actual physical copy of your next album, just downloads. Please don’t do this. Just because most of the newer generation has embraced this new method of getting entertainment, there is still an army of people out here that love to get a hold of your albums and look at your design booklets and read along to the music. Hellbilly 2 was released on vinyl and it would have been badass to include a booklet of the artwork found in the CD and I understand this costs extra money from you and the record label, but still it would’va been pretty damn cool.
My question is this. What is your process? When working on your albums, do you sketch out how your booklets will look or just start plugging away on the computer by yourself? Does anyone from your band bring ideas in? You used to do page layouts for adult mags back in the day so does that always stay in the back of your head in laying out your design work? How do you go about creating art for your t-shirts?
Keep up the awesome work.
Cheers!
