She is an absolute doll in person.. super sweet and gorgeous (of course). The 2nd time I saw her we were taking a picture together and she was like "how tall are you again Nicole?" and I was like "5'9 but I have these tall ass combat boots on ha ha" she was like "I'm 5'10 so I knew you were around there" ha ha. She is just really nice and makes small talk with the fans etc.
I do a lot of extra work on movies and tv shows. But when H2 came to town I was there watching as a fan and to meet everyone. Huge Rz fan and of the Halloween franchise. Couldn't have been any better of an experience.
I got lucky once and happened to be on vacation in Texas during one of their signings. It was just by chance, but I found out about it and there I was. It was Rob and Sheri doing a signing for the release of the House of 1000 Corpses dvd. So I bought a couple and got them signed. Got a few pics. Really short meeting, but still very fun.
So guys i was just watching a random movie yesterday and im folding my clothes and i hear this voice im like wow that sounds just like sherri and sure enough it was her in toolbox murders.. pretty cool movie
I admire those two as a couple. In an era (especially Hollywood) where everyone is having problems and getting divorced, these two have been together for damn near 20 years! Maybe even longer. They are really truly in love. The world could learn a lot from them. ...Even the once in a while occasions where we get a glimpse of behind the scenes, their love always stands out. It's not an act or fake or anything. It's the real deal. A lot of us can only dream of having such a solid relationship and a commitment level and love. Especially 20+ years! It's something that most of us hope and strive to have. Very powerful. And it says a lot about them as people. They are probably the most normal and misunderstood couple out there. Or rather, they are what normal should be.
I was at a horror movie convention recently, and Bill Mosely was talking about the end scenes in Devil's Rejects and how Zombie rented a helicopter to film the final shootout. Sheri was frightened and Rob instantly stopped shooting with it, despite the thousands of dollars it took to rent the thing. I guess maybe there was going to be some more with the helicopter but Rob loves his wife enough to respect her desires. And Bill said something about how that would have been hard for him (and probably everyone) to do lol. It's very inspiring!
Also, I hate how people give Sheri's acting shit sometimes. I think she is great! She owns that character of Baby! And her on-screen dynamics with Bill and Sid is quite simply amazing. It would be hard to picture anyone else in that role, and I wouldn't want to.
I am very happy for Rob and Sheri..In their interviews together, and even when they were working together on that show radio in 2005, you can tell they have mutual love and respect for eachother..And they have fun working together. That is inspiring. I won't lie..In my life offline, I see a lot of examples of shitty, miserable, relationships..But, seeing how Rob and Sheri treat eachother, and seeing how certain friends who are married ( or who have been living together for awhile) treat eachother, it gives me hope that I can find someone who will treat me decently.
And the horror fans I have seen who criticize Sheri's acting usually don't even know what they are talking about. As, most of you probably guessed, Baby is definatley my favorite female horror character ever. Sheri was great in that role, and she is going to be awesome in The Lords of Salem.
^^ Now that you mention it, she might very well be my favorite female horror character as well. Haven't really thought about it. But yes, those people really don't know what they are talking about. Especially in the case of Devil's Rejects. Her personality is really strong in that one and stands out. All of the actors do. When you have the right people working on the right film. A great director, camera man, and script, and actors that really 'get' the project and are invested in making something excellent collectively.....magic happens. Sheri really stole the show on her scenes. The dynamics and relationships are very believable. I can't even imagine what the nay-sayers would be looking for. It's a perfect film. And all of Sheri's roles have been really great and crucial for story developement.
I think people who are nay sayers usually are just looking for someone or something to talk shit about. Just to talk shit. And, it might seem hard to believe, but those kind of shit talkers don't just degrade something or someone when it isn't very good, sometimes they target things that are awesome. Some of the people who I know offline who I have seen talk a lot of shit about Rob's films and Sheri are fucking jealous. At least with one of them, I know for a fact this individual wishes they could make movies or be a musician, and probably sees other things Rob has and is dying of jealousy. He knows that Rob makes great films, and it makes him sick, so he used to pick on me for loving The Devil's Rejects. He just has to take the fact that he isn't successful out on someone. That is probably what most of the naysayers are like. They are miserable about something, so they try to tear down someone they are jealous of. I bet a lot of the people who talk shit about Rob's Halloween films are just jealous because they wish they could remake Halloween.
LOL it's funny you bring that up. I mean, I could probably say I'm jealous of Zombie in some ways. It seems like he's got a really awesome life and really gets to live his dreams.
But there is positive jealousy and negative jealousy. Or maybe jealousy isn't even the right word. But all I know is that if you see something you really love, and it's what you want to be doing, you should feel inspired and motivated to get off your ass and become a better artist yourself. Some people are bitter and just wish failure on others because they are jealous of, like you said. But if you take that same desire for similar things in life, and you use it in a good way... acknowledging and appreciating your elders and peers. There is a lot to learn from and no need for pointless hate and ridicule. I think those people are very foolish. It's the difference between gradeschool bullshit and someone mature who embraces their own life and chooses to do something themself with whatever talent it is they have.
But back on topic. As far as Sheri's acting, I always thought she was great. And I think she is just getting better and better with each movie. It's going to be great seeing her as the lead in Lords of Salem!
I see people say terrible things about Sheri on the IMDb message boards all the time and I defend her every chance I get. I have defended her so much that people have asked me if I actually am Rob, Sheri, or a family member to them. People say she can't act and the only reason she gets the roles in Rob's movies is for her looks and the fact that she's his wife. They say she can't get roles outside Rob Zombie's movies because she "isn't a real actress." I tell them that if someone can play a psychopathic maniac, a loving mother willing to do anything to take care of her family, an angry spirit, and play them all convincingly it shows tremendous acting range and a great amount of talent. As for why she doesn't get roles outside Rob's films, I think it's obvious she doesn't want to. She has said in interviews she never had any ambition to become a big name actress, but if she did want to I have no doubt in my mind that she could. But since she doesn't want to I don't think she should be forced to. Then there are the people who call her a gold digging, trashy stripper skank who aren't even worth responding to. She is one of my favorite actresses ever and no rude things anyone can say will change that.
Some people just aren't happy unless they have something to complain about. They look for negativity in everything rather than trying to find something they do like. The Internet has contributed to this problem in my opinion. I can't wait to see her in The Lords of Salem and am glad the negative comments don't stop Rob from casting her in his films because I know he must be aware of what people say.
Glad to hear people you hang out with have good things to say about her. I think a lot of people do..Just not the assholes at certain horror boards, but those kind of people tend to say very ugly things for no reason. About anyone who makes movies that are not 100 percent their taste. Not everyone likes the same kind of movies, and there are millions of different movies to choose from, there is no reason to be ugly if you don't like a movie or an actor/actress in a movie..Just go watch something else.
