Rob Zombie speaks to Yahoo Music about his new album The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser. He tells them why he waited a year to release the album, even though it was all finished, being a product of the 70’s, whether being a film director gives him a different perspective when looking at his music, and what he really thinks when people compare his music to “B-horror groove metal or even schlock-metal“.

Rob also reveals that although he had to fight with the censors for a rating for his latest movie ’31’ (due out in September), it was The Devil’s Rejects with which securing an R rating was the most difficult. “You’re editing content for adults. One adult is telling another adult, ‘I think that’s a little too much for you. We’re gonna have to tone it down.’

A great piece of video from our friends at Loudwire where Rob Zombie plays ‘Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?’ As Loudwire explains: “We’ve got an amazing guest for this week’s edition of ‘Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?’. The legendary Rob Zombie sat down with us to prove or disprove what’s written about him on Wikipedia!
This turned out to be one of our favorite all-time episodes. We dove into Rob Zombie’s entire lifespan, digging up some falsehoods along the way. We start off talking with Rob about who he wanted to emulate as a child. He also set the record straight on a chaotic event which took place at a carnival during his youth. Zombie’s family were carnival workers by trade, but due to patrons getting pissed off over rigged games, one carnival went up in flames while guns were being fired in a state of all-out anarchy.”
Watch the video above and enjoy as Rob delves into the line between fact and fiction.
Rob Zombie: “Touring is the best part about being in a band. That’s kind of what the whole point is.”
Rob Zombie talks to Alternative Nation about why it took a year to write the new album The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser, how he and the band keep things fresh, John 5’s backwards guitar solo, touring, making films and albums and much more; “I really believe in this record and I want to keep it alive with a lot of content to keep the fans excited.”
