Rob Zombie’s much anticipated release ‘31‘ has now got a release date. Stick September 16 in your diaries folks.
After a small issue with previous distributors Alchemy, the film has also secured Saban Films to help distribute the movie for it’s theatrical release.
“After meeting with Saban, it was obvious that this was the perfect home for ’31,’” said Rob Zombie. “They have a true understanding of the genre and how to handle it. I am very excited to work with them.”
From Rob Zombie:
I will try to answer your questions here. 31 has moved to a different film distributor. This may sound like an easy situation but it is slow and involves lawyers and tons of paper work so that is the reason for the hold up. It is all good news, but it has set us back a few months. The new company is working on a new trailer and one sheet which I will get out to you all asap.
I know everyone loves to think no news is bad news, but it is not. The movie business moves like a fucking snail.
In an interview with What to Watch, Rob Zombie and Sheri Moon Zombie discuss 31. In this video, Rob talks about some of the influences behind the movie, how the characters are essentially him and the “MPAA nightmare‘ and why the cuts he has made to get an R-Rating will not hurt 31 at all.
