“I think if any record is a soundtrack to my childhood it is this slice o’ madness. Released by Pickwick Records back in 1974 this insane barrage of sounds play non-stop in our house.

For this fourth grader if had everything a monster kid could need to lead a happy life. Seriously, I think this record along with the kid’s book MOVIE MONSTERS was all we needed to turned out basement into a haunted house and live out all our monster dreams.

Ah, those were the days. “

ahhhhhh, if anyone collected Halloween/Horror Sound FX LP’s in the 70′s, this was a MUST HAVE! Got mine in ’77! I was 6! I can recite every line and sound! I would stare at that friggin’ cover for HOURS!!!!!!

I remember finding that book in my school library…and keeping it checked out for most of the year!

As a kid in the ’80s, my mom would this very soundtrack on the cassette player every Halloween. After hearing that woman at the beginning again (for the first time in 20 years), it finally dawned on me why all of the neighborhood adults would giggle when they came around with their kids.

Wonder why there was an effect added@11:48 which altered the video appearance for the last 4 minutes?

Haha! That’s so cool. I wish I had a basement in my childhood home to play haunted house, that would have been so much fun :P The book looks like a classic too! Thanks for posting the you tube link aswell. A great way to listen to your collection, for those of us that don’t own the particular record.

Awesome record…Is the wind sound at 01:10 the intro to Jesus Frankenstein?

This was in our record collection as well and I believe my mom held on to it, so it’s probably sitting scary in storage. She has 2 years been gone and I miss her. This brings back fun memories. Thanks, Rob.

Oh and for some reason, the black and white pic of the album cover looks more familiar. Wonder if our’s was in color?
